James recalls the keys to success in achieving partnership, advice to his younger self and associates looking to make partner, influences in his career, and overcoming any career challenges.  "The sooner an associate or of counsel starts understanding the big picture and reflecting that understanding in their work and in their actions the sooner the firm's leaders will feel comfortable with making them partner because they are speaking the same language as the firm's leadership," James said.
