Partner Jake Bissell-Linsk and Associate Danielle Izzo were named 2025 “Rising Stars” by Law360.  This prestigious award honors a select group of attorneys whose significant achievements demonstrate an unwavering commitment to the legal profession that far exceeds their age.

Jake was named a Securities Rising Star for his excellence in prosecuting complex securities fraud cases on behalf of institutional investors.  Among his many successes, Jake played an integral role in securing favorable settlements in a variety of securities actions, including securities matters against Nielsen ($73 million settlement); Oak Street Health ($60 million settlement); WWE ($39 million settlement); and JA Solar ($21 million settlement), among others, as well as his significant accomplishments in the ongoing, high-profile litigation against Boeing.

In his profile, Jake says working on sophisticated and complex legal issues is what motivates him.  "I like being on the plaintiffs’ side and representing investors because it really does feel like we are uncovering frauds and doing so for the benefit of our clients and the absent class members who recover in our cases," Jake said. "But also, in a sense, improving the functioning of markets by being a sort of force in the market that holds companies accountable to speaking honestly."  As a key member of the team, Jake points to Boeing as a matter he's especially proud of in defeating motion to dismiss and achieving class certification for Boeing investor plaintiffs.  He highlights how the team worked on an expedited scheduled to turn over “all the stones that need to be turned over," and their ability to remain “so focused and so dedicated to pushing that case forward, on the right pace."

Danielle was named a Cybersecurity/Privacy Rising Star for her exceptional work in representing consumers in cybersecurity and data privacy litigation.  Among her many successes, Danielle has been a pivotal member of litigations shaping data privacy law, including against Flo Health alleging the app, which tracks sensitive reproductive health information, secretly shared intimate health data with third parties like Meta and Google; and Amazon alleging Alexa-enabled devices violated federal and state wiretapping laws by surreptitiously recording private conversations not intended for Alexa activation, among others.

In her profile, Danielle discusses how she dove into the fast-evolving world of cybersecurity and data privacy litigation since joining Labaton, helping lead the Firm’s Consumer Protection and Data Privacy Litigation Practice in high-profile cases.  Noting that she relishes the challenge of identifying emerging legal issues, building novel claims, and managing the litigation process, Danielle discusses major cases she’s currently litigating, including against Flo Health, one of the first cases to try issues under California wiretapping laws, and Amazon. "As a leading practice group representing consumers in major class actions like Flo Health and Amazon, our cases are nothing to sneeze at," Danielle said. "We're showing the industry that we're ready to take on these large, important matters, and that we've developed a formalized group to do so." Speaking on her forecast for the future of cybersecurity and data privacy law, she believes the law will catch up and that, "consumers will become smarter about the results of our cases and will know to be on the lookout."
