Joseph Russo leads Labaton Keller Sucharow's Paralegal Department as the Manager of Paralegals and Practice Resources. He is primarily responsible for the recruitment, hiring, development, training, and utilization of the Firm's paralegal staff. Joe's extensive involvement in recruitment and staff skill development highlights his ability to strategically staff each case assignment in a way that will benefit the Firm and its clients. Matched with his expertise in legal technology, the Paralegal Department is able to reach its peak performance.
Joe brings 15 years of experience in legal support staff management. He first served as a Paralegal Manager at Proskauer Rose for 12 years, where he supervised a support staff of 40. He then moved to Mayer Brown, where he oversaw all case and project assignments and led legal technology initiatives. He most recently served as the Director of Trial Support Services at a trial consulting company.
Joe has also obtained an abundance of certifications including certificates in Paralegal Studies from Bernard Baruch College, in Global/International Business Management from New York University, and in eDiscovery practice and procedure from George Washington University. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Paralegal & Litigation Support Managers (PALS) Working Group and a member of the International Paralegal Managers Association (IPMA).
