The American Lawyer Litigation Daily named Partner Ned Weinberger, Chair of Labaton Keller Sucharow’s Corporate Governance and Shareholder Rights Litigation Practice, Litigator of the Week, alongside Silpa Maruri of Quinn Emanuel and Chad Johnson of Robbins Geller, following their historic $1 billion settlement in the Dell Technologies Shareholder Suit.  The article was published on November 18, 2022.

The team secured a $1 billion cash settlement just three weeks before the scheduled trial in Delaware’s Court of Chancery.  The settlement, which comes two-and-a-half years after Vice Chancellor Travis Laster turned back a defense bid to knock out the suit, still requires sign-off from the court, and if approved, it would be historic for shareholder settlements in the Court of Chancery.

"... This was a hotly contested case, no doubt, but I think there was a remarkable amount of professionalism on both sides.  In the end, the job is to serve the client.  I think we best serve our client, and ultimately get a lot more done, when we can leave some of the antics and bellicose nonsense behind," noted Weinberger.

Ned Weinberger is Chair of the Firm’s Corporate Governance and Shareholder Rights Litigation Practice.  An experienced advocate of shareholder rights, Ned focuses on representing investors in corporate governance and transactional matters, including class action and derivative litigation.
