London Partner Jamie Hanley spoke with The Law Society Gazette for their “My Legal Life” column spanning his career as a trade union lawyer to serving on the UK Parliament’s Joint Policy Committee and joining Labaton Keller Sucharow as London Partner-in-Charge.
In the article, “My Trip with Jimmy Carter,” Jamie details the time in his political career where he got the opportunity to join President Jimmy Carter on a trip to the Middle East and was fascinated in witnessing “the experience and skill” of the President.
Jamie discusses the progression of his career and the current litigation he’s involved in at the Firm representing institutional investors. “The ability to seek redress for clients, while at the same time securing corporate governance reform, has been very rewarding,” he said. “As regulation and enforcement have diminished, I have found that it is now often left to large institutional investors to take action and help hold corporates to account.”
